Virtualy the first car built by Bizzarrini.
Based on Fiat 500. Originaly rebuilt in the 40's as barchetta with Fiat
500 Topolino engine with SIATA head. Restored in 1992 by Fausto Manara,
Brescia, Italy (current owner). The car was entered in six Historical
Mille Miglia

Bought by Paolo Pratali (Pisa ) from the factory bankruptcy in 1972
as new rolling chassis (60 %) without engine ,gearbox,interior and front
body .No chassis number . Car completed by Pisa mecanic and road registered
with chassis number 7413/13 with a Fiat 6 Cylinders 2300 cc . 1975 Sold
to a dealer who sold it to USA . Fiat engine removed and replaced with
a original Chevrolet unit 1980 sold back to Italy where Bizzarrini added
a original Bizzarrini chassis number "BA4 201" as he was the
chassis number who belong to this car (documented by Bizzarrini). (Mr
Pratali accept to make a invoice to the italian new owner as the targa
was never cancelled) 1986 for sale in Florence . 2001 for sale in Italy

July 2001 : after a long research, and many meetings with Giotto, I
find out that Giotto renumbered B 0222 at the end of his racing career
and sold it as a street car. Today, after speaking with the owners of
IA3 0222 and B 0222, everybody agrees that IA3 0222 is the Le Mans racer.

between late 1965 and February 1966.
Ordered by Mike Gammino of Boston, USA, with Lamborghini 4-litre V12
engine. RHD.
Crashed during initial testing by Edgar Berney in Feb 1966 at Le Spianate
a Castiglioncello circuit, due to aquaplaning in wet conditions.
Engine and running gear removed to be re-used on second chassis.
Body/chassis sold at Bizzarrini bankruptcy sale in 1970.
1973 - discovered in Switzerland by Rob de la Rive Box.
1975 - sold to Hansuli Buchi, Switzerland.
1979 - sold to Roelofs, Holland.
At this time the 'car' consisted of a chassis, two rear body parts,
1 front body part, two doors with handles and two master brake cylinders.
No chassis number !
1980 - sold back to Buchi.
1985 - sold to Bruijn, Holland.
1987 - sold to Soames Langton, England. For sale £12,000. Seen
by Lackner rough body/chassis with no running gear.
1988 - sold to Oliver Kuttner, Scottsville, Virginia, USA. Restored
by Kuttner with Chevrolet engine (evidence found for Lambo engine-mounts).
9 inch front & 11 inch rear Campagnolo wheels. #002 used as a guide
during restoration.
1990 - Displayed at Concorso Italiano, Quail Lodge, also Pebble Beach,
California. 2nd in class at Pebble.
1992 - sold via auction to Michael Mac, Hong Kong.

by the American Liberdo Gerardi. Built between February and mid 1966.
Lamborghini V12 - 4 litre engine with down-draft Weber carburettors.
No serial number on the engine. RHD. Shipped by Alitalia to Mike Gammino,
Boston, USA (see the advertisment).
The car was painted a light blue with a yellow stripe.
1968 - raced Bridgehampton - DNF broken oil pann ,caused by suspension
parts on the track ..
1970s - given to Lee Girardi, Gamminos mechanic.
1977/8 - sold to Mel Bowser, Massachusetts, USA.
1980 - sold to Earl Sowers, New Hampshire, USA.
1980s - sold to David George II & William Knepshield, USA.
1984 - restoration.
1988 - sold to Jim Phelan, Virginia, USA.
1990 - sold to Ulrich Buschmeier, Germany, via Ultimate Motorworks,
Florida. Phelan re-negotiated to be partners with Buschmeier. Car remained
in USA. Shown at Quail Lodge and Pebble Beach 1990. 3rd in class at
Pebble. Returned to Florida, then displayed at San Diego Automotive
Museum, CA. where it still was in 1998.

6 ½ inch & 9inch Campagnolo wheels. RHD.
1966 - June. 24 Hours Le Mans, race number 10, drivers Edgar
Berney/Anre Wicky. (Other Bizzarrini entrant was GT America #BA4 0106,
race number 11, drivers Sam Posey/Massimo Natili)
Started 40th on grid. Spun off start line, retired during second hour
with coolant loss, due to cracked chassis tube, caused by incorrect
jacking up .
1966 - 2nd half. Ineligible due to racing regulation changes, Bizzarrini
decided to modify body to closed coupe style, and tried to sell it.
It was demonstrated to the Duca dAosta see #004.
1968 - 2nd half. Chassis given to Giorgetto Giugiaro, who re-bodied
it as the spectacular Manta show car, the first project of Italdesign.
It was a pure wedge with central driving position, and was displayed
at the Torino Show in late '68.
1969 - Shown in USA. Disappeared on its way back to Italy !
Late 1970s - appeared in Port of Genova Customs auction. Bought
by Giovanni Giordanengo, Cuneo, Italy.
1982 - October. Sold to Ulf Larssen, Sweden.
1988 - shown in Italy at 20th anniversary of Italdesign. Colour changed
from pale green to silver.
Early 1990s - displayed in France.
2000 - Restored for Pebble Beach Concours

Duca d Aosta P538 chassis 262 914
Powered
by a 5300 Chevy with a ZF gearbox. Bizzarrini converted the Barchetta
body into the superb beautifull coupé for Amedeo, Duke of Aosta,
Italy. Known as the "Duca dAosta" model. Completed just
before the firm failed in late 1968. Displayed at 1968 Torino Show.
Painted white with green & black interior. LHD.
1972 - sold to Marco Paoletti, Firenze, Italy.
1999 - May. Sold at auction in Geneva. Only 9000km from new.

Commissioned
in the mid 1970s by wealthy Torino jeweller, Luciano Bertolero,
together with #6. Records state delivered to Andrea Morelli 10.6.76.
Built by Bizzarrini, wife Rosanna, and Salvatore Diomante, at the latters
premises Autocostruzione SD in Torino.
Diomante had acquired much of the Bizzarrini parts inventory at the
liquidation sale.
Lamborghini 4-litre Islero engine, LHD. Lambo Miura wheels.

P538 005 BIZZARRINI PORSCHE
In
1977, Andrea Morelli alas the "playboy" bought from Bonomelli
the Porsche 910 ex Schiffert who had been modified in Spider ( The author
have the original invoice where no chassis number is added )The car
had a small fire on the rear of the car.Morelli was the brain behind
this project and for all this period, he had Bizzarrini making specials
projects fo him or his friends.
The car was registered for the road in 1979 with a Firenze plate. As
you can see, this prototype has a P538 chassis number and looks a little
like a P538.Thn sold to David Piper who then sold it to
A Swedish driver who race the car during the 1980s .1988 Cuppelllini
bought it .. The Bizzarrini body was removed from the car in 1989 and
was put in storage in a dry garage where I bought it in 2001. When I
speak with Giotto about this project, his eyes light up. He will never
forget how beautifully he transformed the 910.

by Giovanni Ghione, Monaco. Lamborghini V12 engine, rounded head-rests,

1985 sold to Robert King, Sussex, England.
1988 sold to Mike Haywood, Shropshire, England. Converted from
Lamborghini to Chevrolet engine by Jim Gordon, Norfolk, head-rests changed
to #002 design, roll-bar added. Also owned by Osborn / Stretton . Displayed
at Midland Motor Museum, Bridgnorth, Shropshire. (see Classic &
Sportscar nov.1990)
1990 flown to California for Rick Cole auction, August. Bought
by Chequered Flag, Southern Calif.
1991 sold to Oliver Kuttner. Mechanically refurbished it, then
sold it to a collector

in 1971 by Giotto and his wife.. Built as a race car with wide formula
3 wheels (gold Campagnolio), no interior only race seats, tuned Opel
engine with Spika mechanical injection. The car is also lighter, wider
and lower. It was driven at Mugello for testing a new gearbox made by
Ottomelara in La Spezia.

This
prototype was not really driveable. It is currently rusting in the basement
of a barn at the Gilmore Classic Car Club Museum in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The museum is reluctant to restore the car because its origin are mysterious.
No VIN number, but a 1973 Michigan license plate is found in the vehicle.
Its number is RIK 423 with 1974 sticker #3-595644.
AMX historian Jerry Beck offered the curators of the museum to restore
the car for free.
